Topic: How to find your passion and turn creative ideas into reality.
Target audience: People passionate readers “haven’t quite narrowed down what they’re passionate about, but they’re unhappy with their current work-life balance,” explains Kevin. They may want to quit their jobs or work fewer hours so they can pursue their interests, but they aren’t sure how to get started.
“They have creative ideas but don’t know where to begin, and they struggle to maintain productivity while staying motivated to hone their craft. They need help turning their dreams into reality and monetizing their creative ideas,” says Kevin.
Compensation: None at this time.
Other perks: When you write for People Passionate, you’ll also gain access to their private Facebook group, The Creative Collaborative, a community of passionate artists and entrepreneurs. You’ll be able to learn, grow and become inspired by other contributors.
What kind of posts they like: “Posts about motivation, productivity, the creative process and finding your passion do particularly well on the site,” explains Kevin.
You’ll want to thoroughly review the contributor guidelines as they outline five things to keep in mind before submitting your post to People Passionate.
Examples of three posts that have done well:
- How To Make Things Happen in Your Life
- 5 Signs You’re Restless With Your Life
- Why You Haven’t Found Your Life’s Calling (and What to Do About It)
What you can do to help the editor say YES: “Be sure to read around the site to get a feel for the kind of emotion and tone we want our posts to have,” recommends Kevin.
“And if you really want to impress us, come up with a killer headline,” he says. “That will get our attention!”
Lead time: Around two to three weeks, depending on the volume of guest posts the People Passionate editing team receives.
Google Page Rank: 2
What’s Google Page rank? In basic terms, it’s Google’s assessment of your site, from 1-10, with 10 being best. You want to guest post for sites with high page ranks because when that site links back to your blog, it boosts your SEO.
Thanks for the feature! I’ll be glad to answer any questions anyone may have on here or via email. 🙂
Thanks for sharing all the details, Kevin! Hopefully some readers are inspired to submit guest posts.

Carrie, Thanks for posting this. I love the idea of The Write Life sharing opportunities for guest posts as a regular feature for the site.
Thank you, Carrie, for this post, and Kevin for sharing the details. People Passionate is the perfect place for me to be, both as a reader and as a writer focusing on creativity and passion. I can’t wait to visit the site. I know what I’ll be reading the rest of the weekend!
So glad to hear it’s a perfect fit, Angie! Good luck with your pitch. I know you’ll enjoy working with the People Passionate team. Kevin is a great guy!
Can’t wait to hear from you, Angie!
And awwww shucks, Carrie. You’re too kind :).
Kevin,
You will, but it may be a few days. I have a book deadline and just got offered a magazine article I couldn’t say no to, so this week has been…fun. But over the weekend, if not before, I’ll have time to read around your site and get in touch.
Thanks.
Sounds great, Angie. Looking forward to it!
Thanks for another great blog. I enjoyed reading articles there! They’re so inspiring.
I’m just seeing your comment, Pimion. Thanks so much for being a reader!
